Ladies and gentlemen
It is a pleasure for me to have been invited to bless the official opening of the Ezakheni Plaza in my capacity as the Mayor on behalf of Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality Council and the community at large.
It is therefore befitting to claim that there will be a change and a visible one in the Ezakheni area by establishing this
Business complex that must service the interests of the people of the entire Ezakheni wards and beyond.
For the record, this is one of the kind in terms of its size and focal area in terms of the anchor shops that have come to make such an investment in this area.
Surely, by looking and observing the nature of the outlets here, it means we then will be able to arrest the economic leakages that have been flowing to other areas and neglecting the circulation of the rand which should have translated in reducing un-employment, reduce poverty and in-equality and this establishment responds to the Municipal plans of bringing about better living conditions for our people.
We are certain that this is a turning point for all the people of these wards to fulfil their immediate needs without having to spend huge amounts of money and travel for such purposes.
Programme director and Honoured guests, I would also like to send out a heartfelt thank you to McCormick Property Developments who have made this a great reality for us. With construction starting last year right up to the opening which we are witnessing today, they have been very consistent.
We welcome you as a dependable partner in the long journey towards the provision of sustainable responses to the immediate challenges that our people face, day-in and day-out, that is, un-employment, poverty and under-development.
Thank you once again.
With these words I now say:
"I, Vincent Madlala, Mayor of Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality officially declare The Ezakheni Plaza opened on this 27th day of September 2013".
I thank you.
