The Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality and Indaka Local Municipality have merged to form the new Alfred Duma Local Municipality.

The Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality in its many promises on service delivery has yet again delivered. On the 24th of March 2015 two contractors were introduced to two different wards (Ward 15 Peacetown) and (Ward 16 Watersmeet) the contractors will be installing streetlights in the wards. In ward 15 the community of Peacetown gathered at the community hall where RT Tshabalala Electrical and consultant is PSMT Consulting Engineers were introduced to the community as they will be doing the installation. A total of 90 streetlights will be erected and will cost R1 500 000.00. This project is expected to end on the 30th of June 2015
In ward 16 Watersmeet, the community were also gathered at the Ezimbuzini community hall where contractor is Nkuluzavu Trading Cc and the consultant is PSMT Consulting Engineers. There also a total of 90 streetlights will be erected with the cost of R1 500 000.00 an this project is also expected to end on the 30th of June 2015
As the Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality continues to deliver on its promise to erect streetlights in rural areas, the deputy Mayor Cllr SR Mfusi was in Burford on Wednesday 26 March 2015. There she officially switched on a total of 87 street lights and those were erected by Edison Power and cost a total of R1 197 017.41 streetlights that will give light in the Burford area. Ward councillor Mthethwa was also present at the street lighting ceremony. Emnambithi/Ladysmith municipality continues delivering to the community.
